Musa Ahmed, a meat seller at Dan Kure Market in Sokoto for over 10 years, reflected on his experience with the Eat Safe program. He acknowledged that previously, his focus was solely on acquiring meat from the slaughterhouse and selling it to customers, with little attention to food handling practices. Since participating in the program, Musa attested to significant improvements in his approach to food handling, personal hygiene, and environmental cleanliness. In his own words, “Before the training, I didn’t have much knowledge about food safety. Now, I handle what I sell more safely, ensuring that consumers trust my products. I now sell safe, high-quality meat that promotes good health. This has attracted more customers than before. Even the aprons and bins provided to us have contributed to drawing in more customers.”
