HarvestPlus, in partnership with AGRA and Nigeria’s Women in Agriculture Program (WIA), organized a three-day capacity-building event for farmers and WIA officers in Niger State, promoting biofortified crops to improve the nutrition and earning capacity of rural-based women. The training themed, “Scaling Vitamin A Cassava and Vitamin A Maize to Improve Household Health and Income in Nigeria”, took place in September 2022, The event trained over 40 women, half of whom will facilitate subsequent step-down training at community levels, and it included a demonstration and distribution of start-up packages to local processors.
