The maiden edition of The East West Seed Product Launch and Exhibition was held on November 26, 2021, at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja. This event aimed to educate farmers on leveraging improved seed variety opportunities to enhance food production in Nigeria. The panel session focused on educating farmers on the benefits of improved seed varieties, discussing the future of the horticultural market, exploring ways to improve the seed and agricultural sector in Nigeria, and adopting agro business models that are working in other foreign countries. The new products unveiled were Tomato Diva F1, Papaya Gymbia F1, Watermelon Sweet Sangria F1, Hot pepper Piquante Yellow F1, Hot Pepper Spicy F1, Gboma Eggplant (African Leafy Vegetable) Sika, Cucumber Daewy F1. The Product Launch, Exhibition and Seed Fair Event connected all relevant actors in the agriculture value chain, physically and virtually from all over the world to brainstorm and provide workable solutions to the nation’s seed challenges and food security.
